Prātaḥ Smaraṇa — Morning Remembrance
Pratah smaraami hrudi sansphurad-atma-tattvam
sat-chit-sukham parama-hamsa-gatim turiyam
yat swapna-jagara-sushupti-mavaiti nityam
tad-brahma nishkalam-aham na cha bhoota-sanghah
प्रातः स्मरामि हृदि संस्फुरदात्मतत्त्वं
सच्चित्सुखं परमहंसगतिं तुरीयम्।
यत्स्वप्नजागरसुषुप्तिमवैति नित्यं
तद्ब्रह्म निष्कलमहं न च भूतसंघः॥
At dawn I remember the Self shining in the heart — pure Being, Consciousness and Bliss, the fourth state, the goal of the liberated sage. That which witnesses waking, dream, and deep sleep eternally — that indivisible Brahman am I, not this cluster of elements.
Early morning as the first act of the day, for centering the mind in the Self.
