Lord Murugan (Kartikeya) is the son of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati, and the brother of Lord Ganesha. He is the commander of the divine army of the gods.

Born to destroy the demon Tarakasura, Murugan represents youth, courage, and victory. He is especially revered in South India, particularly Tamil Nadu and Kerala.

With his Vel (spear) that cuts through ignorance, he represents the power of knowledge and spiritual warrior energy.

Symbolism & Significance

Vel (spear) destroys ignorance. Peacock represents victory over ego. Six faces see all directions.
