Overview
Guruvayurappan is the form of Lord Krishna worshipped at the famous Guruvayur Temple in Kerala. The name comes from Guru (Brihaspati) and Vayu (Wind God) who installed the deity.
This four-armed Vishnu form with conch, discus, mace, and lotus is depicted as a child (Bala Gopala) and is deeply beloved in Kerala. The temple is often called the "Dwarka of the South."
Guruvayurappan is especially worshipped for marriages, child welfare, and general well-being.
